Located on the Mail Rail platform, the Postal Museum now offers a remarkable, unique and private dining experience, surrounded by industrial decadence and the character of Mail Rail depot. The Mail Rail service was a vital artery in Britain’s communication network and for more than 100 years, these tunnels have been hidden from view. Our guests now have the chance to experience this truly secret space.
Avoiding the predictable Christmas party, we worked with the Postal Museum team to create an elegant Winter celebration for a VIP client dinner. This underground dining opportunity that takes guests on a journey beneath the streets of London, was the perfect location and setting.
Guests were greeted by a stunning suspended floral centrepiece designed by the florist The Urban Flower Firm. This created a visual that draws the eye and gets guests talking.
We served up a three-course seated dinner showcasing the best seasonal, locally sourced produce available throughout the Winter months. Our Head Chef aims to ensure that ingredients are used thoughtfully and works to minimise waste at every turn.
We served up a charred gurnard fillet starter, with Jersey royals, leek ash emulsion, padron peppers and spring onions. This was followed by a main dish of duck breast, black pudding bonbon, heritage carrots, rainbow chard, fondant potato with a redcurrant glaze. The dinner was finished with a trio of sumptuous desserts, including treacle tart, apple gingerbread and a chocolate pistachio delice. Each dietary requirement was accounted for and some guests had a slight variation to the standard menu.
